When to begin
Planning can begin before a specific application. First identify the decisions that matter now, then agree the engagement period, review points and communication frequency. A long-term plan is not an unchangeable route set years in advance.

Understand the student’s interests and learning context alongside family expectations, time and budget. Differences are discussed rather than removed by a standard template.
Compare the choices together
Set out curricula, subjects and overseas study options, explaining prerequisites, preparation and room for adjustment. Unverified information stays an open question, not a promised outcome.
Keep the plan responsive
Assign tasks, responsibilities and decision points. At agreed reviews, consider changes in interests, progress or family arrangements before deciding what the next stage should involve.

What if parents and students disagree?
We first understand each person’s reasons, then identify shared goals and practical constraints. Planning supports discussion and respects the student’s choices; it does not make major education decisions for the family.
How does this differ from application support?
Family planning addresses direction, trade-offs and stages of preparation. Application support covers materials and milestones for agreed programmes. They can connect, but inclusion of both must be specified in writing.
What is GIIS’s role?
Genius Academy collaborates with Genesis of Ideas International School. If a plan involves GIIS school services, the school’s and advisor’s roles, fees and processes are explained separately. Advisory planning is not admission or the award of a qualification.
